Join us and experience the power of giving

Philanthropic giving is a lifeline that underpins our artistic endeavour and plays a significant role in realising the ambition and vision of Adelaide Festival.

We are proud to launch Foundation Adelaide Festival which will secure the future of Adelaide Festival by providing for its long-term stability and sustainability.

Foundation Adelaide Festival will assist Adelaide Festival and Adelaide Writers’ Week, in achieving the Festival’s Vision to be recognised nationally and internationally as one of the world’s greatest multi-arts festivals which brings to the audience the power of great art; pursues new creative horizons; places Adelaide at the centre of Australia’s culture; and creates a transformative impact on our city, making arts central to our society. We can only reach these heights with your support, trust and guardianship through our philanthropic programs and now, our new Foundation.

We invite you to join us as we bring together the greatest artists of our generation in communal celebration as we look towards the next 60 years.

For 60 years our state has nurtured the arts.  The result is one of the world’s great multi-arts festivals, which in turn injects $76 million into South Australia’s economy each year, not to mention its immeasurable benefits in community engagement with the arts. Now through the Foundation, with the help of our donors, we can invest funds to ensure the Adelaide Festival’s financial stability for the future.

The Mission

Foundation Adelaide Festival will, through philanthropic fundraising, stewardship of funds and provision of financial support, assist the Adelaide Festival (including Adelaide Writers’ Week) in achieving:

  • the Festival’s Mission to create and present programs that inspire, challenge and delight local, national and international audiences; stimulate local creativity and community involvement and attract artists from across the country and around the world; and
  • the Festival’s Vision to be recognised nationally and internationally as one of the world’s greatest multi-arts festivals that brings to the audience the power of great art; pursues new creative horizons; places Adelaide at the centre of Australia’s culture; and creates a transformative impact on our city, making arts central to the culture of our society.

The Vision

Foundation Adelaide Festival will support the Adelaide Festival in achieving its vision through assisting its financial stability and facilitating its long-term development and exceptional one-off projects. The Foundation will be a bridge between the Festival and its community of interest, providing a pathway for support, nurturing existing donors and stimulating new donors in order to grow philanthropic support to become the most significant income stream for the Festival other than Government and box office. The Foundation’s support for the Festival will eliminate short to mid-term financial instability, enable ambitious long-term artistic planning and build a substantial endowment over time which will generate strong annual returns for the Festival.
